I am a multi-media fine artist, currently specialising in tufting and print works. My art practice is an introspective discovery of self, as an individual and in community. I seek true feminine expression that defies repressive patriarchal expectations, in original forms that relate to my lived experience, which brings me to traditional female crafts of textiles and dance.

I have sought empowerment and inspiration from unearthing and referencing the divine feminine using sacred, globally recognised images of the repressed culture of the Indo-European Goddess Culture to inspire and unify a diverse contemporary audience.

Textiles, particularly wool work, has long been considered a feminine craft, and my tapestries themselves are tactile forms, demanding physical interaction. The practice of tufting has allowed me to develop my work in a format that expresses this, with imagery integrating symbolism of rebirth and regeneration, and colours that reference these.

I want to create art that is not separate, detached, framed or apart, but instead it invites a viewer to step up and get involved through dance.

Through my practice, I reference the healing and grounding properties of dance, using it as an escape and a meditation, a form of both individual expression and community connection, and its relevance as ritual in the modern world, linking us back to the Goddess culture.

My earlier work documented contemporary rave scenes, but these felt exclusive, subjective, and I wanted to invite the wider audience to relate personally. So, incorporating graphic elements from my photographs and posters into dance rugs, branded with my slogan:  ‘Hard Times?  Dance Harder’, I hope that my work demands  further interaction!
